All About my Pregnancy! (part 2)

Picture from last week: Week 29
As of today I am 30 weeks pregnant. That means only ten weeks left until I see my baby boy! It’s hard to believe! I feel like I have so much left to do, but we are waiting for my baby shower to see what I get to finish the rest of everything!
Another thing I forgot to mention in my previous post was all the cramping I had in the beginning. It was not bad, but it did happen a lot and scared me at first until I found out it was normal. Since then, I have had some cramping every so often, but nothing too bad!
Stretch Marks:
I actually started getting them kind of early in my pregnancy, maybe around week 10-12. I described them as welts, because they looked like that, it looked like my legs and thighs had been beat up! I also have these vein-looking things near my knees, they are not fun looking. So plenty of stretch marks, just none on my stomach!
Kicking:
It also took a long while for my husband to be able to feel him kick. Every time he would put his hand there Adam would stop! I think it was around week 23-25 maybe that my husband finally felt him kick. He was so excited!
I had been seeing it for a little while but it was very faint, and now I can definitely tell I have it! As far as I can see it starts at my belly button and goes up in a fairly straight line. I had never heard of the Linea Nigra, until a friend told me about it. It’s kind of cool to see it happening though!
Over the past few weeks 27-29, I have started to feel my heart race at times when I am trying to sleep or when I am just sitting and not doing much at all. My doctor said as long as no other symptoms like shortness of breath accompany it then it should be alright for now. I used to get them when I had anxiety, but it has been awhile. So far they are just annoying when I am trying to sleep, but it hasn’t been too bad lately.
Shortness of Breathe
My husband thinks it’s a little funny that I can;t make it up the stairs sometimes without huffing and puffing. I am pretty sure this is normal, but it seems to happen a lot! The other day I was on the phone with my friend and I was pacing, while I was talking, and my friend asked what I was doing and I told her I was just cleaning the kitchen, and she said it sounded like I was exercising because I was breathing so hard. I thought it was funny, because I hadn’t even noticed it!
Leg Cramps:
About week 28 I had the dreaded leg cramps that I had heard about during pregnancy. I had about ten in the middle of the night, and could not sleep the rest of the night it was awful. The next morning my leg muscle was still so tight that I could not walk on my leg. I finally took a warm bath and that helped a little. Everyone says to drink more water to prevent them, so I am trying and have not had any since then. Hopefully they will stay away!
Nesting:
Not sure if it was the beginning of nesting or not, but yesterday I was so in the mood to get stuff done! I cleaned and cooked and did all kinds of stuff! It was fun, but I am not as in the mood to do stuff as I was yesterday. I wonder if this nesting thing, comes and goes?
Maternity Pictures:
Only 3 more weeks until I get them done! I am soo excited!
My fingers just started swelling maybe a week or so ago, and I immediately took off all right-hand rings. For some reason my wedding band and engagement ring are doing just fine, so I'm leaving them unless it gets worse.
And I just noticed my first strech mark last week, right under my belly; I had to use a mirror to see it. haha.
I started getting, what my husband likes to call, the "momma line" very early on. And mine's not very straight. It goes to the right above my belly button, then it starts again and goes straight down from my belly button. Totally random.
Don't worry about the shortness of breath, it is completely normal. I hate that I can't walk up our 14 steps at home without feeling a winded everytime.
It's great fun to hear about your pregnancy! I can't wait to see your pictures 🙂
I can't wait to feel my baby kick. It's my favorite part 🙂
ha I have stretch marks all sorts of places except my belly too! I don't like them!
ur so cute!
Can't wait to see pics of little Adam. Glad to hear you are doing well. 🙂
I was lucky that I got to wear my rings all the way through.
You are carrying him so beautifully! I'm sure it probably sounds silly, but honestly Kathryn you look amazing! When all is said and done and you're holding Adam in your arms, you'll think it was all a piece of cake…cramps and all : )
You're a tad bit pregnant, huh? LOL
Next time you can't get a ring off, put your hand in ice or in the freezer while holding it above your heart. Makes it smaller and the ring should slip off.
Great photo. Stopping by from LadySociety.
That is so exciting! I love your photo!!
Eat bananas with the leg cramps. One night I got one so bad I was screaming. I needed to flex my foot but my muscles were pulling so hard I literally couldn't move my foot. My husband woke up thinking I was in early labor or something! I was screaming at him "Flex my foot! Flex my foot!!" My doctor said I was low on potassium and to eat a banana every day. It worked! I never got one that bad again!
I hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy! That little man will be in your arms before you know it!!
I just had to stop by and let you know you are an amazing comment leaving smidge of goodness. I saw all the info and advice you left on Casey's blog and was in awe. Not only did you help her but you helped me too and I didn't even have to ask!!!
You look adorable! I was swollen most of my pregnancy! I even wore The Husband's ring for a little bit! And I had the same kind of stretch marks on my thighs and hips — now I say it looks like a shark got a hold of me!
I LOVED reading this post. I love all things pregnancy/baby. 🙂 You look so adorable! I love watching your belly grow. 🙂
I'm sorry about all the cramps and hip aches and all. I'm glad that is all slowly going away. How fun to feel Adam moving all the time! I can't wait to feel a baby kick. 🙂
I can't believe you are 30 weeks already! Where did the time go?! I'm glad you didn't have to get your ring cut off. I just came from another pregnant friend's blog, and she was also talking about her fingers swelling and having to remove her rings soon.
Thanks for recording everything on here for us to read!
Its funny to read all your stuff and look back and remember all that I went through too. SO now you know I am not completly off my rocker on all the things I told you that would happen lol
