I’ve recently started to read more non-fiction books. I want to keep my marriage strong, so books on the topic of Christian marriage have been interesting reads for me. One of these books is The Wholehearted Marriage. It’s an incredible book full of great advice.
My Thoughts on The Wholehearted Marriage
“Passionate… Exciting… Intimate… Romantic… Do these words describe your marriage or do they sound like impossible dreams? Your marriage can be all these things, and more, when you know how to fully engage your heart. Drs. Greg Smalley and Shawn Stoever offer practical tools for sparking a passionate connection and keeping reactionary triggers from closing up your heart. It’s your most important relationship, so put your heart into it — all of it.” – Amazon
There are many books about marriage that cover shelves in thousands of bookstores today. How do you know which ones to read and which ones to stay away from? The Wholehearted Marriage cuts right to the chase and gets right to the heart of things: the heart!
Using stories, lists, and examples from the authors’ own lives, this book is a fast reader and hard to put down. Not only did I learn things about marriage, but I also learned things about myself.
The three main topics The Wholehearted Marriage covers:
- Understanding the Heart
- Unclogging the Heart
- Unleashing the Heart
Marriage counselors, Dr. Greg Smalley and Shawn Stoever show that no marriage is perfect, but every marriage can have the chance to last a lifetime. It just starts with the heart! Come along this journey and discover things you never knew about your spouse, your marriage, and yourself!
I think this is such a great marriage book, one of the many that are out there. Even though I am newly married, I still learned a lot of great things from this book. I hope you take the time to check it out.

Greetings from Turkey.Have a nice day.
kathryn,
Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog, and following me. I hope that you will find encouragement. I see that your husband is in the USAF. You have a lot on your shoulders being a military wife. My bother is in the Army. He will be going back to Iraq for his third tour on August 1st.
Looking forward to seeing you around! 🙂
Kathryn, (one of my fav names)
I'm so happy that you stopped by my blog & left a comment. I see that you are newly married & pray that your marriage will be a blessing to others & a perfect picture of Christ! My blog is a little slow this summer, but it should pick up in the fall. Love, Torie
For math I will use Math U See & for other subjects I will use this method which centers on Bible & uses homemade notebooks for several subjects. It's in the Charlotte Mason style of teaching. I own her book that explains the method & it is amazing. http://heartofwisdom.com/homeschoollinks/
For reading I will use the book that you said your mom used. For our unit studies we are trying Konos & Amanda Bennett. Here is a site where you can read reviews of many different homeschool curriculum. http://cathyduffyreviews.com/ It's never too early to start looking at curriculum. ; )
I can’t help but remember my wonderful mom-in-law when I see your name! Thanks for sharing and linking up too! 🙂
I’ve never even heard of this book and it looks like it’s at least a few years old. Thanks for sharing it!
