“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” -Deuteronomy 31:6
I think verse can apply to so many things, and it is especially calming for me as a military wife because of all the fears I sometimes hold for my husband. I love reading to be strong and of a good courage, because that is so the opposite of what I want to do. Most of the time I feel like running away and hiding, or not facing my fears, but that is not what God wants us to do here.
The “nor be afraid of them” is also a good part because there are so many things and people that we can fear. For me, I have used the “them” to apply to those I have had to publicly speak in front of, those who can do me or my husband harm, and now that I am going to be giving birth in a few weeks, I have applied to my fear of Doctors. God knows the future, and tells us there is not need to be afraid of anyone, because He is going with us, and will not fail us.
What a wonderful promise to know and to have that God is always with us, He will not fail us, and He will not forsake us! What more could we ask for?
great post and great verse!
You are so right, my natural tendancy is to be fearful…not strong and certainly not of good cheer…oh so thankful for the promises we have in God's word.
thank you for sharing!
i am going to post this right above the alarm box in my bedroom so it is the last thing i read before going to bed
I love it! Thanks…I will be looking through my posts to email you. Thank you!!!!
Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog and thanks for stopping by! I read through a little of your blog and wanted to tell you that a nursing cover is a must! I actually got into making them when I had my first baby…they are wonderful to have on hand. I kept one in the car, one in my diaper bag and one at home! I have 11 weeks left!
