True Beauty: Be Still (Lisa Chan Giveaway)

Note: I may earn money or products from the companies, products, or links mentioned in this post.

Recently, on my Facebook page I asked how many of you had heard of Francis Chan and/or read his books? Many of you replied affirmatively and had great things to say about him. If you don’t know who Francis Chan is, you might of heard of his popular book, Crazy Love, or maybe you have heard his teachings or seen him on a youtube video or two.

Francis Chan’s wife has recently come out with a new video series called, True Beauty: Finding Your Identity in Jesus. I had the privilege of reviewing the first video in that series called, True Beauty: Be Still and am excited to share that with you today and also give you the chance to win this dvd as well!

Here is a little about the video from the press release and trailer for you to watch:

“Be Still, which weaves Lisa’s teaching with the story of Susan, an amazing woman who found that being still with God was what she needed in order to overcome her struggle with a broken marriage, is intended to challenge women who are struggling and help them to find power and strength in just being quiet and listening. With this film, Chan comes alongside women in their walk with the Lord to give them the tools they need to be the person God intends them to be. True Beauty: Be Still is foundational and can be life-changing as women are convicted to take stock of their own reasons for not spending time with Jesus.”

When I watched this video, I was so in awe of Lisa Chan and her wisdom and wise words. This video centers around spending time with God every day and just learning to be still and listen to what He has to say. This is something I have been thinking about for a long time, pondering, even before I watched this video. I want to find time to have that quiet time, but in this busy world that we live in I find it hard to fit it in or to make time, or maybe I just keep finding excuses… I think a lot of you might feel the same way.

Throughout this video there are two ladies speaking, one is Lisa Chan about the power of being still in the presence of God and the other is a lady named Susan, who shares her personal journey. Susan’s husband left her for another woman, and during that time she learned to put her trust in God and also learned to tune into Him and let Him lead her where He wanted her to go.

While my husband has never left me, Susan’s struggle still resonates with me and I think it will with many other women as well. If you have been keeping up with my blog, you have seen the hard times my family has been through in the past year. It has been some of the hardest I have ever been through, but while I listened to Susan’s story she said something I don’t think I will ever forget. She said, “God loved me so much that He wanted to walk me through a journey where He’s the only one that I cling on to.

That is the reason we go through these hard times. God is bringing us to our knees so that we have nowhere else to go, but to Him. He desires us to spend that time with Him, He is passionate about it. Being still is where Susan began to understand her journey, it is where she began to grow and through it she was able to minister to others.

God really spoke to me through this video, through conviction and love. This video is something that will speak to every woman in this day and age, young or old. I really encourage all of you to take the time to watch it – it’s only about 23 minutes long. I know it will speak to your hearts as it did mine.

Below you will get the chance to enter to win this DVD, but if you don’t win it, I hope you will go to the website and purchase it here. You can also find out more about these videos including this one on the website: True Beauty Films and also on their Facebook and Twitter.

  1. I would love to win this DVD. I feel just as she described, with so much going on in a day when the house, kids, husband and ect. that some times I let God get distant.

  2. I would love to win this. I broke my leg a week and a half ago. I am very frustrated. There is some reason though, why I am stuck here with out being about to move except with crutches and relying on everyone for help. I have slowed down…and am ready to listen to God.

Thanks for the opportunity to win it!!

  3. I watched the video clip. I would like to have this DVD to share with other women. “Be still, and know that I am God” Just the “Be still” part is so hard! Our thoughts are loud, Satan’s whispers are loud. Our flesh and our soul continually resist being still. And yet, that is how we will know God. That is where we will know God. Please God, get me to that place!
