My First Vlog… About Vlogging!
Note: I may earn money or products from the companies, products, or links mentioned in this post.
I have been thinking a lot about vlogging. So I took the leap and made my first vlog… about vlogging! I have my own thoughts of it and I am not really sure if I will continue doing it or not, but I would love to hear what your thoughts about it are.
So what is vlogging? I have already had a few people ask me what it was and all it is is blogging on a video: video blogging! A lot of bloggers are starting to do it now, and so I wanted to see what all the hype was about. Vlogging could turn out to be fun, except I have a little stage fright (see post here).
Please don’t mind my nervousness as I take a few minutes to talk about vlogging and it’s pros and cons. Let me know what you think!
I think you did a great job! You are so pretty! đ
I "like" the idea of vlogging but I hate watching myself! I think I look silly and I pick out all of my faults. Then I feel stupid and I never actually post the vlog! I guess it's more of a self-confidence issue than anything.
But you did a great job and I look forward to more vlogs from you!
I love vlogging – guess that's pretty obvious because I have a whole site about it. đ I don't think it's a fad because it's been around since 2006 and is still steadily growing.
You are right in thinking that there are tons of awful vlogs out there – just as there are awful writers. Whether it's right for you depends a lot upon your audience and what they like. For my daily life site I've found that a mixture of written and video blogs works well for my audience and me.
Pick what works for you and run with it!
Awesome!
Blessings,
andrea
I'm with you on being a fan of reading and writing. so i think I prefer blogging.
the biggest positive side of vloging for me would be that i could listen to it while i changed baby or cleaned the house…but i usually read blogs while i feed him, so I think blogging wins out in the end in my opinion.
I'm too self conscious to video myself so I know i wouldn't do it, at this point anyway. but I would watch if you start vlogging đ
you did good!
sometimes I skim when i read – and that is impossible when watching a vlog lol… so its nicer like you said from a speed aspect. . .
forgive the disorganization of this post, baby on my lap distracting me lol
Awww, you have such a sweet way of talking! đ I've followed your blog and your involvement on Wives of Faith for awhile, and it was cool to actually see you and hear you. đ You're right, in what you said, about how a vlog makes you more personable to your readers. đ
I've wanted to vlog, but I get pretty self-conscious, so I'm still not sure how heavily I will vlog. But I keep telling myself that I won't get any better if I don't at least keep trying it. đ
I like both, vlogs and blog posts. Vlogs are more fun to watch and you can listen to them while working on other things. Blog posts are sometimes quicker to read and you can always go back and reread something particularly interesting. Vlogs sometimes allow a greater connection with your readers, while blog posts can offer a better way of communicating a lot of information. I like both and think both are important!
I just found your blog and I love it! đ I am your newest follower! đ
You did very well with your vlog!! I have stage fright so bad,I'd never be able to do one.
Good work!
Your Blogging Buddy,
Shannon
Feel free to stop by my blog.I'm your newest GFC follower!
You did awesome!! đ I just did my first vlog too a few days after Christmas. I’m so glad I did, because I loved it! đ I really like watching vlogs but not super long ones. 10 mins max or my mind starts wandering đ
Thank you! Haha I re-did the video like 5 times before I was willing to post it lol. I just went over and watched yours and you looked great! Left you a comment too. I agree shorter videos are better. Thanks for commenting! đ
