God has Already Given You Everything You Need!

Last night at church, my pastor said something that really made me think. I don’t remember the exact words, but he said something like, God has given you everything you need to accomplish the things you are meant to do.
What a great statement! That means he will not ask you to do something, or call you to do something, that he has not already equipped you to do! I had never really thought about it that way before. So because, God knew you were going to be a teacher, a lawyer, a nurse, etc. He gave you the everything you need to complete and accomplish that. Such as giving you good speaking ability, or the ability to learn well, or whatever it may be. Even if you don’t know what it is yet, God has still given you whatever you need to make it possible!
This has really opened my eyes. Lately, I have been a little lost trying to figure out what I am supposed to do with my life. I went to school to be elementary teacher, but I only stayed two and half years, because of the grades I was getting due to my shyness of getting up and front of people and teaching, among other things. I have finished an associate’s degree in general studies, but I still want to go back to school, and get a bachelor’s degree in professional writing. I have tried looking into everything for that, but it seems every door is closed. My credits won’t transfer and we don’t have enough money right now.
It seems like everything I have wanted to do has not worked out, to the point where I am just not sure what God wants for me. But hearing last night, that God has already given me the talents and the things necessary to be whatever he wants me to be, whether it be a teacher, a writer, or something else, really made me happy. I don’t have to worry about what I am supposed to do, because whatever it is I already have the ability and the talents to do it and God will show me what it is and make a way for it to happen!
I hope this encourages anyone else out there who may be wandering around like me wondering what you are supposed to do!
This is totally true. I think I truly realized this when I was planning my wedding (believe it or not). That's also the time when I realized I need to rely more on Him and put my life in His hands and all will be just fine. Now with TTC I've learned about patience and God's timing. I love when He shows Himself to me and lets me know that He loves me and has plans for my life.
As for TTC, we started in May, so it's just been a few months. I'm the same way with family too, I want 4 and I want them spaced out enough, so that's another reason I wanted to start now too.
We're currently stationed at Offutt AFB, NE. Curtis actually put Warner Robins on his dream sheet (that's the only stateside base he has on there, though. haha). We both grew up overseas and want our kids to as well.
Haven't had a chance to read this post yet, but wanted to let you know that I gave you an award! I think you have a lovely blog! Go to my blog to claim it! Thanks for the continued encouragement!

Kathryn, If you learn this now, you are way ahead of the game! 🙂 It reminds me of one of my all-time favorite verses- maybe your pastor even used this in his sermon: 2 Peter 1:3-4: "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption of the world caused by evil desires."
Good Mooorning, Kathryn!
What a blessed reminder this post was for me this morning. Your blog was my first stop this morning and may God bless you for blessing me. I thought it was a little funny that you would be looking into furthering your professional writing career. Do you mean like school or something? Why don't you just start looking for places to submit your work? If God has in fact given you EVERYTHING you need to excel in your gift of writing, then write! Pray about the direction He wants you to go and do it unto Him. I'm excited for you. I think I told you when I first visited your blog that I enjoyed your writing and I'm sure others do and WILL, also.
Have a joyful, productive Tuesday!
