Note: I may earn money or products from the companies, products, or links mentioned in this post.

I don’t know about you, but I just love dressing up! I am always looking for an excuse to get dolled up in a cute dress and to go out with my husband. Now, it doesn’t happen very often, maybe just once or twice a year, but the times it does happen are the most fun and exciting for me.

With the holidays approaching I thought I would talk about picking a holiday gown for any upcoming Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s celebrations you might have. I know one of my favorite times to dress up is Christmas and I have gotten that opportunity several years now, by attending my husband’s squadron Christmas party.

Whatever the occasion, Dress First has some beautiful dresses to pick from and I’m going to highlight a few for you today! Dress First is “A leading supplier of wedding gowns, special event dresses, wedding party dresses, Prom Dresses, and accessories.” They also have bridesmaid dresses, and mother of the bride dresses and I was excited to see that they have a holiday selection as well!

Here are just a few of my favorites from their site and the links to each below. Enjoy!

Picking a Holiday Gown

1. Make sure you have your budget set.
Before you pick out a dress, make sure you know how much you are willing to spend on a holiday dress. Does that budget include accessories or will you use ones you already have? Stick to your budget when shopping and you are sure to find the perfect dress for both your form and your budget!

2. Make sure you have the right accessories.
When picking out a dress, think about what you already have at home to wear with it. Do you have a pretty shawl or sweater that would match? A pair of earrings that would go perfect with a certain kind of dress? Or maybe you have the perfect color shoes and just need to find a dress to match them! Whatever it is, make sure you have the right accessories for the right gown!

3. Make sure you plan for the right weather.
When shopping for a holiday dress, keep in mind that most areas this time of the year are usually cooler. Think about what kind of sweater, coat, or shawl you might want to wear with your dress, or if you would prefer a floor length or a shorter dress. The weather really does matter when it comes to picking our your dress and can make or break an outfit!
