Letters to Me

I got this idea from another blogger: Alysha and thought it would be a fun thing to try…
“What would you say to your former self knowing that God has the ultimate plan? Knowing that you can change nothing and only accept the amazing life He has given you? Would you write to yourself?“
Letters to Me:
Dear me at 5,
This is the year where you will accept Christ. Never forget, what you did and the commitment you made, even though you are young. Remember that God is always good no matter what trials are coming.
Dear me at 6,
This is the year you start first grade! You are going to love school, but remember to work hard, and not get lazy. How well you do in your schoolwork will affect you the rest of your life, and you do not want to regret not doing well later on.
Dear me at 7, 8 & 9,
Learn now to get out of your comfort zone. Make friends, and don’t be shy!You will miss out on a lot of things if you continue to be so shy!
Dear me at 10, 11, & 12,
Yes, I know you think you are excited because you are almost a teenager and you love reminding your mom that you only have a few years left until you drive, but don’t rush these years, they may go by slow for you, but you will wish you had them back.
Dear me at 13 & 14,
Oh yes, these are some rough years. But you will get through it. Try not to be so mouthy and deal now with that bad attitude!
Pretty soon you are going to find out a guy at school likes you and you are going to “like” him back just because. Stay away from him, he is not worth an ounce of your time, I promise. God has someone way more special for you in the future!
You have a wonderful best friend. Treat her with respect or you may lose her in the future. Remember she is a person with feelings too, and that just because she may seem to have the perfect family, doesn’t mean she does. No one is perfect.
Prepare now, because mom and dad are getting divorced. It’s going to be one of the biggest trials in your life. Get close to God now, and stay close to him through this. He will be there with you through it all. Remember he promises never to leave you or forsake you.
Dear me at 15,
Mom and dad will divorce this year. It will be rough. Try to be there for your brothers they need you through all this.I know it will be hard, but remember God is with you even through this, He has a plan.
Dear me at 16 & 17,
Yay you finally get to drive! Be careful and watch where you park that first time you go out!
This is where you finally grow up a little and learn a lot. You get to drive, you get your first job, and you learn a little more about the world. Don’t let it scare you, you will do a great job!
I know you are still having a rough time handling the divorce, things are not so great at home either. Definitely not what you thought, but please don’t let bitterness and jealousy eat you alive. Cling to God, you will make it through. And remember, the reason you live is to love and worship God, even if you have no other reason remember that.
Dear me at 18,
You are about to graduate highschool! You have finally made it and are now wondering what college God has for you. Keep on praying about it, it is pretty cool how God makes His will known! And Don’t be scared about your graduation speech, you will do a a great job!
Now that you are at college you are about to meet the man God has for you for the rest of your life! Be nice to him, even though you don’t like him at first. And remember not to rush anything. You have plenty of time.
Dear me at 19 & 20,
Be careful what friends you make, study hard, and don’t give up. Don’t rush into friendships, you have plenty of time to make good friends.
You will go through a breakup, but let it be a learning experience. Even though you get back together it was worth it for the break you two had, it will make you both grow up a bit. Seek God’s will and talk to both of your parents about getting back together, you will be happy you did and then you will know that you are making the right decision.
Dear me at 21,
This is the year that really changes your life! So much happens, your future husband tells you he is quitting school and joining the Air Force, you get engaged, and then married!Don’t be afraid about him joining the Air Force. It’s a good life, and you will be so glad he did! Don’t pressure him about the engagement, let him do it in his own time, otherwise you might get different results!
Dear me at 22,
See? Air Force life isn’t that bad!Learn what you can, and be careful again of what friends you make. You will make some great ones, and ones that are not so great… Don’t hesitate to start babysitting, you will meet some wonderful families, and make great friendships!
Don’t rush into trying to conceive it will happen, I promise. Don’t get discouraged, and be warned you will miscarry your first. I know it’s another tough trial, but God and your husband will help you get through it.God has plans, and you will go on to have a another pregnancy soon after!
Dear me now,
Your about to be a mom! My how time flies!Continue to stay close to God, and tell your husband daily how much you love him and are thankful for him. Put God first before your family and the rest will fall into place. Remember not to be so scared and worried about things, God has been with you through all these previous years and He has never walked away from you.
Love this idea! I might do it too if you don't mind đ
My parents divorced at 14! How weird how things are similar đ
Well you said to read blogs for inspiration, so I just read this..think I might do this as well..lol.
very very sweet, If only we could really do this! and I can't wait to see pics of your sweet baby!
What a lovely idea! If only we could really go back and give ourselves letters.
Hi there!
New follower from the Faith Deployed FB page!
I loved this letter to yourself. Very profound! And congrats on your pregnancy!!
awwww….I love this! What a great way to reflect on yourself đ You can see how far you've come and grown!
Iâve enjoyed looking over your blog. I came across it through another blog I follow, and Iâm glad I did. I am now a follower of yours as well. Feel free to look over my blog and perhaps become one as well.
I tell him usually I wish I could have a hug or hold his hand. As far as I know he doesn't read either of my blogs. I don't think he has much interest in actually reading them. Nor do I think he wants to take the time to. Not in a mean way, just he would rather play video games or life weights then read my blog. Just stinks because by the time I talk to him tomorrow night I will probably feel better. I have to mend myself because I only get to talk to him once a day.
