School is just around the corner for most of us and while it can be an exciting time, it can also be a bit anxiety-inducing for parents of special needs kids. We all want our child’s teacher to understand our child and to know all the little details that make them unique, but sometimes it can be hard to do that without overwhelming the teacher.

A Friend’s School Printable

Last year, a friend of mine posted a school printable she had made to give to her son’s teacher. Her son has autism and I loved the way this school printable really explained Tristan and his strengths and weaknesses. I thought that this was a great way to help a teacher understand her special needs (or any) student just a little bit better!

This year, I wanted to make my own school printable for my son. This will be his first year since age 3 that he will be going to school without an IEP. He is doing so well he was able to test out of SPED. I still have a few concerns, however, and filling out this form and giving it to Adam‘s new teacher will definitely relieve my anxiety about this new school year!

I got permission from my friend and found someone to help me create this school printable:

The great thing about this school printable is that it would also work for introducing your child to daycare workers, Sunday School teachers, coaches, babysitters, therapists, and more! Want to download a copy of your own? Subscribe to my email list below!

What about YOU? Would this printable help introduce your child to a new teacher? Would it help with some of that back-to-school anxiety?
