Since the popularity of my post, How to Invite Non-Friends to Like Your Facebook Page, I decided to write a follow-up post on why it’s so important to invite friends (and non-friends) to like your Facebook page.

As someone who has managed Facebook Pages for other bloggers and businesses, I have found that the majority do not know that you can invite friends and non-friends to like their Facebook Page. Not only that, but they do not realize why it’s an important aspect of growing a Facebook Page and reaching more people.

Here are 4 reasons why you need to invite friends and non-friends to like your Facebook page and how to do it!

Why You Need to Invite People to Like Your Facebook Page

Now, I am not going to go into the “how” of inviting non-friends to like your Facebook Page, you can find the instructions for that here, but I will show you how to invite your personal Facebook friends!

Invite Friends Facebook

1. It’s NOT Annoying.
The number one thing people are concerned about is that inviting friends or non-friends might be annoying.

Okay, so what if it is slightly annoying?

Facebook only lets you invite a person one time. That’s it. You can never invite that person to like your Facebook page again once you hit that invite button.

If you look at it that way, it’s only a quick notification to your friend or a non-friend saying you’ve invited them to like your Facebook page. If they don’t want to then they won’t and if they do, they will. It really isn’t that big of a deal. Plus, they can just keep on scrolling if they don’t like it.

Here’s an example of what it might look like when a Facebook Page sends you a notification:

2. It Helps Bring Valuable Growth to Your Page.
It might not seem like a lot, but each invite brings you closer to your goal and closer to having the valuable Facebook growth you’ve dreamed of.

Sure, not everyone you invite to like your page will accept it, but many do!

One of the things people forget to do is to continue to invite new friends as you add them. Every few months I take a look and see if there is anyone I’ve added on Facebook that I could invite to like my page. I sometimes will even post a link to my Facebook Page on my personal timeline and ask friends to like it.

Many respond that they didn’t even know I had a Facebook Page and immediately go like it. You never know how these little things could grow your page!

3. It Introduces New People to Your Brand.
With each new “like” you are introducing new people to yourself, your business, and your brand. If each of those people shared a post or invited 2 of their friends to like your Facebook page, you now have even more people to reach and sell your products to.

Each of those people has now seen your logo, they have noted your brand and when they see it again, it just builds in their mind who you are. In time this will build toward them taking an action (sharing, buying, etc) you want them to take.

4. It Builds Community.
If you’re a blogger or even a business, you want to build a community around your brand. Doing so builds trust; and new leads! We talk about being real, and your community is where that counts the most!

Even Facebook has created an area on Facebook pages where you can see your community and how they are working together:

Community

From there, many build Facebook Groups that help grow their brand’s community. These groups are more personal and allow you to reach even more people than through the typical Facebook page.

With the right community, they will support you and your page, build you up, purchase products from you, and build your brand for you.

What about YOU? Do you invite friends and non-friends to like your Facebook page? Do you think it’s important? Why or why not?
