Home. The one place I have been thinking about for the past month. Over the past month and over Christmas I was visiting family. I stayed in West Virginia and then traveled to Michigan for my sister-in-law’s wedding. Can we say too much traveling? Whew! I am so glad to be home.

We got home last night around 5pm, and I had 3 suitcases to unpack, and clean laundry and dirty dishes  awaiting my return.  Today, I spent the entire day, cleaning, unpacking, doing, laundry, and running errands. Nothing like jumping right into the week!

Am I glad to be home? Yes! I was so happy to sleep in my nice bed with my wonderful memory foam mattress and my incredibly awesome memory foam pillow. Adam must have been happy to have his crib back because he went to sleep right away without a peep.

The one thing missing? My husband. I know he’s been gone awhile now, but it was almost like I expected him to be at home, waiting for me with open arms. I sat alone last night eating dinner, watching a movie – relaxing. But I was lonely.

It’s going to be hard going from living with 5-10 people every day to just me and my son again. I am happy at times for the silence, and other times, it’s deafening. We are not quite halfway through this deployment, but I have gotten through it so far. I only have as much left as I have already gone through.

I feel blessed to be home again and I know that soon I will be the one awaiting my husband’s return and once again our house will become a home and our family will be whole again.
