Two years ago I wrote this post: “To Twitter or Not to Twitter?” At the time I was debating whether or not to use Twitter and why twitter even mattered. I even made myself a Twitter account and used maybe once or twice.

I never really got the hang of how to use it. It seemed pointless to me especially since you can do the same thing on Facebook. Soon after I forgot all about my account and later I just assumed I had deleted it.

Now, only two years later I am re-thinking Twitter. It seems to have come a long way and evolved some in it’s uses. I have heard a lot of people say how good it can be for social networking and especially blogging.

So two days ago I tried to remake an account. I found that my old account had never been deleted and was still there waiting for me. I changed my username (sadly I could not use my blog name as it was taken and every thing close to it was too), added some people I wanted to follow, and set out to slowly figure out this new world called Twitter. A world filled with @ symbols and #hashtags. A world where every little detail seems to be posted around the clock.

You know you want to join in the fun, so add me! (MyAFWifeLife)

What are your thoughts on twitter? Silly or cool? What do you use twitter for? Personal or more business? Or maybe a little bit of both?

  1. I go through phases with Twitter. I really like it and it has been a tremendous blessing for my blog. But I'll be on it all the time for a few weeks and then get tired of it and be off completely for a few weeks! Haha! But I do really believe if you have a blog and want it to grow you MUST be on Twitter… you don't have to be obsessed with it… but it is the best networking site I've seen. Hardly any of my Twitter peeps are on my facebook. Facebook is more for your friends. Twitter is more like a cocktail party where you network with people you don't already know!

    Welcome to the club!

  2. I am on twitter. Mostly, I use it to post blog articles. I have not gotten the full hang of it, either. I haven't had the time to really play with it. Please friend me there. My user name is: andrea perdue

I have an award for you at Arise 2 Write. It is the second post down. I also have a prayer request at All Gods Creatures.

    Blessings and prayers,

  3. I'm on twitter but not really. Between FB, Blog Frog, keeping up with other blogs, and of course keeping up with my own blog, I just don't have the time or energy. At least now that I signed up for Networked Blogs, my posts go automatically to twitter. Otherwise, I thik I get on there maybe once a week.

  4. I don't need one more thing taking up my time, so I don't have Twitter. Lol! But enjoy! Everyone seems to be on it!

  5. i fought getting on the Twitter train for a long, long time…but I succumbed!! love it, but my goodness it can be addictive. Love my invisible friends:)

  6. You can try a service such as Ping or Posterous to update your twitter, Facebook page, and everything else with one post – even email it info in.

  7. I understand! I've used it to build my online community and network with readers and larger companies. I agree with Mandi, I go through phases too! I have my blog set to automatically tweet my new posts but my personal activity on Twitter is on and off again.

Thank you for commenting on my blog, I greatly appreciate it. I love your blog and I hope you have a wonderful day.
