You see as stated in the title above, this is a question that I am asked all the time, not to mention questions like how do you do it? And why do you do it? Things along the lines of aren’t you scared he may not come back or how do you deal? Well in my true heart of hearts honest opinion here is my answer.

My husband is my lover, my confidant, my best friend and better half. and for all of the couples out there doing this as we are, quite frankly if not us then who? I have ALWAYS said “it takes a certain kind of woman to be a marine spouse”, but in all honesty it takes the EXACT same kind of woman to be a Military Spouse. Someone who can switch into dual roles when needed, without help from others because when it boils down to it it is just you, your husband, and your kids (if any).

So to my questions I’m so frequently asked, how do I do it? I don’t think about it I just do it. And why? Well there isn’t an answer. The same way my husband has to rely on TOTAL strangers to be his “Battle Buddies” and to watch out for his back while in danger, is the same way he can ALWAYS leave here knowing he is taken care of and that HIS family is the last thing he needs to worry about.

No, I am not scared for anything because I know what kind of person my husband is and I know he will do his job. I don’t deal because I don’t have to. This is the life I was chosen to lead. Things happen for reasons that we ourselves cannot explain, and I see it as this.

My husband and I crossed paths back in school for an ultimate reason, and all we can do now is live each day, day by day and we can only look forward to what tomorrow brings. So please no more questions. This is not a “job” nor is it “a thing I do in my spare time”. I am a 24/7 wife to my husband, and mother to my children and that is all there is to it.

Thanks a bunch for reading.
