2010

2010Hopefully I am not too late with this, I know most people have already posted their New Year’s Resolutions or the things they wish to change in 2010. This year I did not make a real list per say, but I did think about some things that I want to change, and that I want to do differently.

2010 Goals:

1. I want to be a better wife.
For me, this really includes a lot. My husband and I both being firstborn, we tend to both be very stubborn at times. I want to be less stubborn, and listen to my husband more. I want to submit as a good wife should, and let my husband take care of this family, without me interfering with everything. I also want to do a better job with the housework. I want to keep the house cleaner, be more organized, and just be a better housewife!
(Marriage)
2. I want to be a great mom.
This is the year that my baby will be born. It’s hard to believe now that I only have 5 months left to prepare and get things in order for the baby. I have been thinking long and hard about what kind of mother I want to be, and how I want to raise my children. There is so much I want to do and so much I want to teach them. I know no mother is perfect, but I do want to raise my children to love the Lord, to be polite and have good manners, and to have integrity. I want to be there for my kids when they need someone, and I also want show my love for them as God’s Word says by disciplining them when they misbehave. Only with God’s help can I become a great mom!
3. I want to finish the things I start.
For some reason my whole life, I have never been able to finish some of the things I have started. I never noticed the pattern until after college, and I looked back and saw everything I wanted to do, but never finished. I don’t want the rest of my life to be that way. I want to finish the things I have started, and not look back at all the things I was afraid to do.
4. I want to establish what my hopes and dreams are and achieve them.
My whole life I have had hopes and dreams of things I want to do or achieve. Some of them I have started towards, and others I have been too afraid to start. Over the years, my hopes and dreams have changed, some changing because I changed my mind, and others because I found other interests. I want to establish what I want to do in life, and go for it. I want God to show me, what he has for me, and what he wants me to do, and then I want to work to achieve those goals, hopes, and dreams.

5. I want to make a difference.
I have always been one of those people who wanted to make a difference in other’s lives. Either by encouraging someone, praying with them, or even through writing in this blog. It’s hard to say if the things you do make a difference, because most of the time you will never know that you have made a difference in someone else’s life. I want to make a difference somewhere or in someone as much as I can. I love to help people, and I hope that God will show me how to make a difference in people’s lives this year!

  1. Great post! Looking forward to following you adventures this year! Making a difference…definitely…wherever God has you, we can always do that. My pastor just spoke on that this morning~! Exciting things for 2010!

  2. These are all great things to work on. I, too, am very stubborn (as is Curtis) and this is probably our biggest downfall. However, ever since Curtis got home from his deployment I've worked so much harder at trying to make our lives better with less arguing due to my personal stubbornness. So far so good, but I have to admit it sure is a lot of work trying to fix old habits.

  3. It's never too late to set goals! I love reading everyone's resolutions. Thanks so much for linking this to my blog… may 2010 continue to bring you many blessings!
