I’m Waiting….

waitingI’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait…”

Sometimes… actually most of the time I feel as though these words describe my life. There is always something I am waiting on. Whether it be direction, life choices, answers, or just the everyday mundane things that we all wait on. And like this song says, it can be a painful process. Day after day we wait hoping that we get the answer we are looking for, or that God will show us the direction we are looking for in life or in a certain situation.

Waiting can be such a long process, one that we do not always want to be patient in. This is also true in the military. I have heard so many times the military quote: “Hurry up and Wait!” Waiting is a part of life and one that we cannot always bypass when we want to. But I think it is more how we handle the waiting period in our lives that counts the most.

“I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I’m waiting
I will serve You
While I’m waiting
I will worship
While I’m waiting
I will not faint
I’ll be running the race
Even while I wait…”

When we are waiting and the waiting seems painful, how many of us want to continue to boldly move on with life? It takes strength and confidence, and that which only Christ can give us. So what can we do during these waiting periods, where we have nothing else to do but to sometimes move blindly along, waiting for this time to end? I believe the answer is as the songs says, to serve, to worship, and to keep on running the race of life.

I think God uses waiting to help us to grow. During this growing period there is so much we can be doing to serve God, and to help others. Don’t let the waiting game of life get you down, get out there and serve while you can, show others that you will continue to run the race. We can also use this time to worship God. God has a reason for this time in your life, thank Him for it, and thank Him ahead of time for things he is going to do for you your family, and in your life.

So whatever you are waiting for remember you are not alone, and there always will be an end to it even if it doesn’t seem so at the time. Just keep being faithful and God will do the rest!
“I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it’s not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting
I will serve You while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting
I will serve you while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting on You, Lord.”
