Homemade Chocolate Cake & Peanut Butter Frosting

I don’t remember the last time I made a cake from scratch, it’s been years and years. Now that boxed cakes make everything easier, I’ve always felt that there was no point in making a cake from scratch.
Then my friend brought over this delicious chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting one night. After eating three pieces of cake, I had to have the recipe. I asked her for the recipe for both the homemade chocolate cake and peanut butter frosting and she said she got it from her mom who passed it on to her.
I made the cake myself last night and it was SO delicious! I just had to share it with you. The peanut butter frosting is my favorite part and really makes the cake. If you have never had a chance to make a cake from scratch, this is the one to try. Enjoy!

What is your favorite cake from scratch? Have you had peanut butter frosting before?
I was craving a good ole chocolate cake with peanut butter icing and this recipe did the trick. The cake perfect but for the icing I added about 2 tablespoons of soft butter to cream it up a bit more. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the frosting tip!
